Work on Wilmington 2009 Testimonials

We LOVE HOW!  What they did for us last year was great but this year was above and beyond.  These were projects we could never have afforded to do otherwise and made such a difference in our appearance.  The volunteers were wonderful and so were the project managers.

Melissa Hight
Director
Arboretum - New Hanover County Cooperative Ext.

The job the wonderful, what volunteers completed at New Life Christian Center was a blessing and God sent.  We are completely satisfied with the work done and the people were wonderful and professional in completing their task.  We thank you for choosing us as one of your project because we could not have done it ourselves.  The site and project coordinators were exceptional and handle their organizing task in a professional manner.

Dr. Ralph W. Moore
Pastor
New Life Christian Center

We are so grateful for all the work and hope to submit to WOW next year.  WOW is a great name. THANKS from all of us at CFLC!

Linda Patton
Executive Director
Cape Fear Literacy Council

Cape Fear Museum was very pleased with the work that was accomplished.  Because of the two steps involved, we did get even more than expected!  The sod has taken hold and creates a much more inviting space for programming.  The Museum Courtyard has been an eyesore for at least 8 years, and we haven’t had the resources to make improvements.  Thanks to Work on Wilmington we now have a value-added space for school field trips to picnic and Summer Camps to enjoy grass and sunshine.

Ruth Haas
Director
Cape Fear Museum

I cannot thank this organization enough for what it has not only done here at our site but throughout the community.  I was very proud and honored to be selected as a part of this great endeavor and hope to continue in the future.  I have nothing but praise for what was done and how it was organized.  I found no fault with the team, the organization and communication that worked with me here at Oakdale Cemetery.  It was perfect all around.

Eric Kozen
Superintendent
The Oakdale Cemetery Company

The project was just what we needed. There was a lot of oversight and visits by the team captain. We will definitely submit a proposal next year.

Linda Pearce
Executive Director
Elderhaus at the Lake

Thanks for an outstanding day of support to the community.  On behalf of Domestic Violence Shelter & Services, Inc., we are ecstatic about the work done.

Director of Operations & Development

PPD was amazing. Angie White, Meg Davenport and their teams went above and beyond. They didn't just work the day of Hands on Wilmington, they spent weeks measuring, procuring products and planning. CIS ended up with a health clinic ready for WHAT to move in; a real fitness room complete with mirrored wall and padded floor; a safe stand for our huge (donated) TV and new paint throughout. And that's just us... I'm sure the other tenants of the Harrelson Center have similar stories.

Louis Hicks
Executive Director
Communities in Schools of Cape Fear

The work performed at this year’s “Hands on Wilmington” by the volunteers from GE under the direction of Cynthia Wagner has greatly improved the appearance and
value of the New Hanover County Department of Aging located at 2222 South College Road.

Please thank everyone for their professionalism, enthusiasm and energy. GE made this
project a huge success.

Property Management Director
